OVERVIEW

Banor SICAV European Dividend Plus is a European equity fund designed for investors seeking medium to long-term exposure to European equity markets, with a focus on the quality and sustainability of dividends, combined with active risk management.

The fund has a dual objective: to select high-quality European companies capable of paying attractive dividends that are sustainable over time, through an approach combining both value and growth criteria; and to help manage portfolio volatility through a covered call strategy implemented in a disciplined and dynamic manner.

STRATEGY AND OBJECTIVES

The portfolio construction process is based on the following components:

  • Core Allocation, consisting of European large-cap equities selected for the strength of their fundamentals and their ability to generate stable cash flows over time;
  • Satellite Allocation, consisting of European mid-cap stocks selected for specific growth opportunities, with smaller position sizes;
  • Actively managed Options Overlay on selected portfolio positions. By selling call options on securities already held in the portfolio, the fund receives option premiums that complement dividend income, helping to generate additional income and reduce overall volatility, particularly in sideways or moderately rising markets.

The fund’s net equity exposure, generally ranging between 60% and 100%, is managed dynamically according to market conditions.

Risk management is integrated into the portfolio construction process and operates across several levels. The portfolio is diversified by sector and geography and is designed to avoid excessive concentration, with the aim of mitigating market risk. As with any equity investment, share prices may fluctuate significantly, resulting in changes in the fund’s net asset value.

The covered call strategy may help moderate overall volatility, although it also limits the upside potential of the covered positions.

The fund may also use put options on financial indices with the aim of mitigating the impact of significant market downturns. This component requires careful management and continuous monitoring, given the operational and financial complexity of derivatives and the risks associated with the underlying instruments. It does not guarantee capital protection or the effective reduction of losses in all market scenarios. In certain market conditions, the use of derivatives may prove ineffective or have a negative impact on the fund’s performance.

The Fund complies with Article 8 of Regulation (EU) 2019/2088 on sustainability-related disclosures in the financial services sector (“SFDR”).

The overall objective is to build a portfolio in which the combination of dividends from the companies held and premiums received from options may offer a more balanced risk/return profile than a purely equity-based strategy.
