OFFICE DECORATED WITH THEBREATH® PANELS

Banor SIM offices in Milan have been redecorated with the innovative theBreath® panels, built with an advanced technology that can purify air from pollutants by absorbing them in its fabric. An environmental friendly technology designed for indoors and outdoors applications, using the natural air flow to purify it.

MAREVIVO SUSTAINABLE WATER BOTTLES

In order to reduce the environmental impact and support “BANOR for Marevivo” project, BANOR bought Marevivo water bottles for all employees, to reduce single-use plastic bottles and glasses in the offices.

PRINTING ON CERTIFIED FSC PAPER

From 2019 BANOR decided to reduce the use of paper and to print all marketing materials on FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified paper.

ADVENT CALENDAR 2023

Corriere della Sera’s 2023 Advent calendar for UNICEF, now in its fourth edition with the support of Banor, is dedicated to the psychosocial well-being of children and adolescents. The proceeds will be donated to support UNICEF projects for children victims of the conflict in the Middle East.

ADVENT CALENDAR 2022

For the third consecutive year, Banor supported the Corriere della Sera Advent calendar for UNICEF Italia. This year’s focus was on environment.

For each Advent calendar sold, UNICEF will provide a year’s supply of clean water to more than 20 children in Ethiopia, a country facing unprecedented drought and famine.

ADVENT CALENDAR 2021

Banor sponsored UNICEF programs against severe child malnutrition in 2021 also by funding the production of UNICEF Advent calendar, which was distributed by Corriere della Sera.

ADVENT CALENDAR 2020

Banor sponsored UNICEF Advent calendar, which was distributed by Corriere della Sera – Sette on 27 November 2020. The proceeds of the sales have been invested in projects fighting child malnutrition.

AN INCLUSIVE SCHOOL

Banor backed UNICEF’s petition calling on the Italian government to provide an inclusive education system for every child and a safe and stimulating learning environment during the pandemic.

FIORELLO PRESENTA: FIORELLO!

Banor SIM supports the Fondazione Francesca Rava – N.P.H. Italia Onlus with a special show by the Italian showman Fiorello called “Fiorello presenta: Fiorello! For Solidarity”, a special evening broadcast on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at the Teatro Arcimboldi in Milan.
Fondazione Francesca Rava helps children in conditions of hardship in Italy and around the world through remote adoptions, projects, awareness-raising activities on children’s rights and volunteering.

OPEN SCHOOL PROJECT TO THE MUNICIPALITY OF MILAN

Banor SIM responded to the public notice of the Municipality of Milan by donating tablets to support the education of all those children and young people who do not have any computer equipment at home.

PROJECTS SUPPORTING MAREVIVO

BANOR’S SUPPORT FOR MAREVIVO CONTINUES IN CALA VIOLINA

On Saturday 8 April 2023, a beach clean-up activity was carried out in Cala Violina (Tuscany), with the involvement of many volunteers who collected 70 kg of waste.
The initiative was supported by Banor, which in 2022 adopted the beach in cooperation with Marevivo and within the framework of the national campaign “Adotta una spiaggia / Adopt a beach”. The initiative was sponsored by the Municipality of Scarlino and the Tuscany Region, in cooperation with Tartamare and Terramare.

REMOVAL OF A GHOST NET AT THE SECCHE DI VADA, IN THE LIGURIAN SEA

Banor supported the removal of a 300-metres long ghost net, weighing approximately 450 kg. The operation was completed over the weekend of 12-13 November 2022 at the Secche di Vada, in the Ligurian Sea.

This area is particularly rich in biodiversity and fish fauna, due to the upwelling process, where cold, deep water, rich in nutrients, rises to the surface, thus attracting fish and other organisms. This is the reason why is strongly threatened by overfishing.

BANOR ADOPTS CALA VIOLINA BEACH

On Saturday September 3, 2022 the Municipality of Scarlino and the Tuscany Region, supported by Banor SIM, sponsored a free and open event to carry out a beach clean-up activity removing waste from the beach, together with the Tartamare and Terramare organisations.
In order to raise awareness among citizens and tourists about the value of the beach ecosystem and the importance of sustainable behaviour in favour of this extraordinary natural environment, three informative boards, with Banor logo, were placed on the beach.
Also, portable ashtrays have been distributed to the people on the beach.
Further activities are planned for the coming weeks: the installation of bike racks, the positioning of three wooden benches, the removal of an abandoned fishing net, clean-up and sport activities.

BANOR ADOPTS BUFALINA BEACH

With Banor’s support, on Sunday, October 31, 2021, a group of 200 volunteers cleaned up the Bufalina Beach, in Tuscany, an area of special environmental value located within the Parco Regionale Migliarino, San Rossore and Massaciuccoli.
At the end of the day more than 300 kilos of waste were collected, mostly plastic.

REMOVAL OF ABANDONED FISHING NETS ON THE SEA-BED OF THE ISOLA DEL GIGLIO

Banor supported the remove of an abandoned fishing net on the seabed of the Isola del Giglio. Fishing gear is the largest source of marine waste all over the world and represents the toughest threat marine biodiversity.

“BLU AL PLURALE” WEBINAR – WORLD OCEANS DAY 2020

During 150 minutes of live streaming, 3 moderators and more than 20 guests met to discuss how to protect the sea and preserve its ecosystems. Among them institutional representatives, scientists, stakeholders and relevant personalities interested or involved in environmental issues. Angelo Meda, Head of Equity at Banor SIM, took part in the “Climate change and economy” Panel which was live streamed on 8 June 2020.

26TH LEVA DEL MEZZOFONDO

Banor SIM was the main sponsor of the 26th Leva del Mezzofondo 2022 (from this year on Banor SIM Award), an athletics competition organized by the Atletica Riccardi Milano 1946 association, for students attending middle schools in Milan and surrounding areas who took part in 600m and 1000m-paced races.
The final of the first Banor SIM Award was held on Wednesday 11 May 2022 at the Arena Civica in Milan, together with the final of “il Ragazzo e la Ragazza più Veloci di Milano” Trophy. The two races involved a total of 1,627 pupils from more than 90 schools.

BANOR SPONSORS THE PARALYMPIC SECTION OF CLUB SCHERMA ROMA

Banor has decided to sponsor the paralympic section of Club Scherma Roma, the fencing club that has achieved major success in Italy and acknowledgements at international level. This initiative has the aim of:

  • involving disabled athletes by sponsoring their club fees so they can train free of charge;
  • providing equipment and full technical assistance through highly qualified staff and athletic trainers.

SUPPORT TO NIGUARDA HOSPITAL IN MILAN

During the health emergency, Banor SIM decided to donate 100,000 euros to the Niguarda Hospital in Milan. In addition, further fundraising was activated and promoted through the GoFundMe platform.

VALUE TRACK FOR WOMEN IN TECH

Banor SIM is one of the partners of the “Value Track for Women in Tech” initiative, organized by Unicredit as part of the Sustainable Finance Partnership with Borsa Italiana. Through this project, UniCredit works closely with 20 top-level partners to support the panel of Italian women entrepreneurs in consolidating their successes.
